What documents are needed to import LED lighting into Mexico or Brazil?
Mexico generally uses NOM certification and Brazil uses INMETRO, and while we can assist in providing technical documents, the certification is handled locally by the importer.
1. Mexico (NOM)
NOM certification is obtained through Mexican-accredited bodies and is typically held by the importer. We can assist in providing the test reports and technical files needed as input.
2. Brazil (INMETRO)
INMETRO certification follows Brazilian conformity assessment rules and is usually handled by a local certified body. We assist with technical documents, while final certification and registration are the importer's responsibility under local law.
3. Division of work
We provide test reports and technical documents, and the importer handles local certification and customs. We do not claim any certification, and final acceptance is subject to destination regulatory and customs review.
